live performances on saturday

i’ve had a few questions about live performances for brand new mountain speeches, so i’ll clarify here… on saturday, the gallery will be open from 6-11pm where people can walk around and see all the different visual art pieces created. during that time, we’ll have a time for live performances while people check out the art work. these performances will cover a wide range of styles (poetry, drama, dance, music, etc.). most likely, it’ll probably be about 2 hours of live performances. we did want it to be work that was created in response to the sermon on the mount. i know it’s limiting, but i guess that’s the point…

we’ll have the stage set up for a full band to be able to play, so each person playing must do the following:

1) coordinate how you want to present that piece (you solo on an acoustic guitar, or with a full-fledged 22 piece band). 2) email me and let me know they’re playing and what they will be playing, as well as sound needs for the night (so we can be as prepared as possible). once i get this list, i’ll email everyone and let them know what time they should show up.

we’re basically considering it a glorified open mic. i know some people have already coordinated who they want to play with them and what. i’m open to whatever, just let me know if you do want to play. i’d love to have as many people play as possible. your performance doesn’t have to be perfect. your song might feel half done. i’d say just perform it and continue to develop the song after the art show.

hope this all makes sense! can’t wait to see/hear/experience all of this on saturday with you guys!!
