Tonite Levi and I (Sam) filmed Joel, Chris and Dustin working on a couple songs, in the birthing stage (their words)… it was a really productive shoot as I feel like we got some good shots, and audio clips of the collaboration. Afterwards Joel and I sat down with each of the guys and interviewed them about the art collaborative as a whole and specifically about the process of creating a song in response to a passage. They all agreed that it is not an easy task taking Jesus’ words and trying to write something that is incarnational in nature (lyrically and musically).
It was a great start, we just need more people to call us when you are creating in your groups (or by yourself) so we can document some more projects. Hopefully leading to a videomentary with all sorts of visual processes… we want to use all sorts of clips for the videomenatry, so even if you write poetry or are painting, et cetera… footage is footage that can be edited and included in the final dvd.
